Research shows that students who are not engaged in summer learning opportunities are likely to experience some level of learning loss, commonly known as summer slide. This trend is further compounded for students living in poverty. The Tuscaloosa City Schools will host multiple high-interest, high-engagement summer learning programs across the city during the months of June and July.
Programs will incorporate academics and enrichment activities, such as the arts, STEM education, and healthy living. You or your organization can help "slow the slide" by making a tax-deductible donation to the Tuscaloosa Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization!
